Complex refractors and projected charts measure vision; a tonometer checks eye pressure; visual-field analysis, OCT and Optos imaging are available when clinically indicated.
Detailed imaging
Topcon 3D OCT creates detailed cross-sectional images of retinal layers. Optos captures a wide view of the retina to help detect and monitor change.
OCT can support early detection and monitoring of macular change, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. Your optometrist will advise if a scan is appropriate.
Visual field
Computer-generated light patterns assess peripheral vision and can help detect visual-field loss associated with glaucoma.
The Medmont Field Analyser can also support motor-vehicle eyesight assessments when required.
Comfort & dry eye
Advice and practice-only products for dry eye and eyelid health, including Hylo, Optimel, Systane, Ocusoft, Nova Tears and more.
The optometrists can assess itching, crusting, inflammation and dry-eye symptoms, recommend home care and, for suitable cases, provide in-practice eyelid cleaning and exfoliation.

Children’s vision
Myopia is associated with growth in the length of the eye. For suitable children, evidence-based management options can help slow its progression and reduce future risk associated with high myopia.
Specially designed contact lenses are worn while sleeping to temporarily reshape the front surface of the eye, allowing clear daytime vision without spectacles for suitable wearers.
Specialist assessment, fitting and monitoring help determine the most appropriate option and track change over time.
Specialist Ortho-K and myopia-control appointments are available with optometrist Jasmine Lichtenstein. Current consulting days should be confirmed when booking.

Multifocal designs can optimise distance, intermediate and near vision. The dispensers help match the design to your visual needs and daily routine.

Principal Optometrist
Jenny has practised optometry since 1987 and is endorsed to prescribe therapeutic drugs. Away from the practice, she enjoys cooking, travelling, alto saxophone and walking her Border Collie.
Optometrist
Helen began her optometry career in 2007 and returned to Donvale after working across private practice. She is passionate about improving patients’ vision and eye-health outcomes.

Jasmine completed her Bachelor of Optometry in 1998 and Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics in 2003. She offers specialist appointments for Ortho-K fitting and myopia control.

After completing a music degree, Richard completed a two-year Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing at RMIT and brings deep product skill and knowledge to the practice.

Eric has more than 40 years’ experience in optical dispensing, beginning with a four-year apprenticeship in lens grinding and fitting. He now appears throughout the year in semi-retirement.
